Stephen Goodrich Miller 1935-2024
Stephen Goodrich Miller, age 88, of Summerville, S.C., passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2024.
He was born on December 24, 1935, to Kenneth and Mary Miller. Stephen grew up in White Plains, NY, and graduated from Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY in 1953. Stephen served 4 years in the United States Air Force as a Special Weapons Maintenance Technician. After serving his Country, he attended Lehigh University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1962. Stephen worked for IBM, Polymers, Inc., then settled into his 30 year career with Standard Register Company from where he retired in 2000.
Stephen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being on the water and had a passion for boating. He was an avid reader and was well-known at the local library. When not reading he could often be found volunteering his time at church. He truly enjoyed the many friendships he made as an active member at Knightsville Methodist Church.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Deborah Miller, and his 4 children; Kenneth (Lisa) Miller of Charlotte, NC., Happy Miller of Rio Rancho, NM., Justin (Rachael) Miller of Miamisburg, OH, and Kristi (Herbert) Richardson. Stephen is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Knightsville Methodist Church (KMC) (1505 Central Ave., Summerville, SC) on August 31, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
