Stephen "Steve" Ellis Stillman

Stephen "Steve" E. Stillman 94, of Sterling, CO passed away on January 4, 2017 just one day short of his 95th Birthday in Greeley, CO. He was born on January 5, 1922 to William M. and Mary "Maggie” (Adamson) Stillman in Sterling. He met Martha Magdalene Cherry while they both were at Minter Airfield in Bakersfield, CA. She worked in the electrical department and he was stationed there with the Army Air Corp as a Squadron Electrician. He later served in the European Theater during WWII. They were married on September 14, 1945 in Denver, CO. Steve owned and operated Stillman’s Auto Electric April 1, 1953, retired, and built "The Cabin” at Crystal Lakes which he and Martha enjoyed to the fullest. He then started Stillman’s Equipment Rental in 1976. He retired for the second time and closed the rental business on January 4, 1980. He enjoyed his Bronco’s and Rockies, creating whatever fix was needed to repair whatever was broken, making beautiful things for his family from his woodworking shop, being with family and fishing. Steve is survived by his children Rodney (Doris) Stillman, Cherry Kathlene (Gerry) Smith, Cindy (Bob) Price and Debby (Allen) Blobaum; grandchildren, Jason Stillman, Steven (Melissa) Stillman, Nicholas Blobaum, Jennifer (Nate) Lengel, Krissandra (J.C.) Greenwald, Staci (Israel) Villa, Justin Blobaum and Ryan (Kendall) Smith. Great grandchildren Avery and Luke Stillman, Jonas and Abram Villa, Elijah and Emmery Lengel and Ayrn and Axton Greenwald. Also survived by a large extend loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha, his five brothers and three sisters. Visitation 5-7p.m. Monday January 9, 2017 at Adamson with Funeral Service at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 also at Adamson Chapel. Graveside service 1:00p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
