Steve J Baber
May 25th, 1956 - January 28th, 2023
Steve J Baber passed away on January 28th, 2023, at the age of 66 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Plainview, Nebraska, his family moved to California when he was a child. He returned to Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska, where he graduated with a BA degree. Shortly after meeting and marrying his wife in 1982, they moved to California with their children, where they have resided since that time. Steve worked for Amador County Department of Social Services until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed playing and listening to music, the ocean, Lake Tahoe and just being at home enjoying the view of the Sierra Mountains. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughter, Stephanie Gomes, son, Jeff (Christy) Cummins, his parents, Wayne (Gin) Baber, June (Chuck) Davis, sister, Barbara Day and brother, Scott (Gabriele) Baber. Steve is also survived by five grandchildren, Alayna, Marissa, Kayla, Spencer and Preston, and three great grandchildren, Reagan, Aubrey and Rylee. The family will have a private Celebration of his Life at a later date.
