January 17th, 1949 - October 20th, 2007
Mr. Steven L. Lettis, 58 years old, of Wall Street, Amsterdam, died Saturday at St. Mary?s Hospital. He was born January 17, 1949 in Albany. Steve was raised and resided in Esperance until moving to Amsterdam four years ago. He had been employed by the Walmart Distribution Center as a forklift operator. He was a member of The Sons of The American Legion Post 701 for 21 years. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and stock cars. He was also a racing pigeon enthusiast. Mr. Lettis is survived by his two daughters: Stephanie Lynn Bartholomew and Corinne Alise Simon Uht, both of Greenville, NY.; two sisters: Stacey Lettis of Middleburgh and Stephanie John Leonard of Esperance; and four grandchildren: Ashley and Alecia Bartholomew and Riley and Simon Uht. A celebration of Steve?s life will be held 6:30pm Wednesday, October 24, at American Legion Post 701, 123 W. Main Street, Amsterdam. There will be no prior calling or visitation period.
