Steven Lyle Rice
December 18th, 1952 - September 9th, 2021
Steven Lyle Rice passed away on September 9th at the age of 68 after a long battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia. He was born on December 18th, 1952. Steve proudly served his country in the Navy for 20 years, mostly on Submarines based in Connecticut. After the Service, he relocated back to Oregon and held various jobs. In 2004, he helped start Sharon’s Attic Quilt Shop where he quilted thousands of quilts over 15 years. Steve is survived by his spouse Sharon, his daughter Alicia and Jennifer, sisters Jacquie (Mert) and Sheryl (Scott), brother David (Vicky), 12 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father, Ase Rice (Norma), and his mother, Naomi Rice. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 25th, at Clean Water Services, 2550 Hillsboro Highway, Hillsboro. The family requests donations to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration in lieu of flowers. If you are able to attend the service and Steve quilted a quilt for you, the family is asking you to bring your quilt to the service to share his amazing work.
