Steven Junior Speakman

Steven Junior Speakman was born on May 23rd, 1989 in Tacoma Washington to Kimberly Dawn Nystrom and Steve LeRoy Speakman. The Creator called him home on the morning of November 3rd 2015 at the young age of 26. He was an enrolled member of the Doyon Limited Tribe in Alaska. Steven made a big impact on everyone who met him. You couldn’t take Steven anywhere without him throwing his hands up in the air and yelling “What up?” at somebody. People would instantly respond because he wasn’t a person to easily forget. In 2008, Steven graduated from Foss High School in Pierce County. Steven was a cherished member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam, Puyallup Tribal and Hilltop Communities. After Graduation, Steven had liked to visit his family at the Port Gamble S’Klallam Reservation where he would later become a beloved resident. While living on the reservation, Steven would roam about and find any odd jobs the community had to offer him. Steven interests included helping others, card games, playing horseshoes, riding bikes, cutting wood, visiting with friends and family, traveling, listening to music, watching the Mariners and Seahawks, classic cars, monster trucks, storytelling and researching about his tribe in Alaska. Towards the end of his life he returned to live in Tacoma in the same building as his mother and stepfather. He will forever be remembered for his helping hand, friendly demeanor and always smiling face. Steven is survived by, Mother Kim Nystrom, Stepfather Bill DeMulling, Grandmother & Grandfather Ann and Dan Anderson, Sister Selina Ramirez, Nephews Antonio Reyes-Ramirez and Javier Reyes-Ramirez, Niece Mya Ramirez-Napoleon, as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Steven was preceded in death by his Uncle Jeffrey Edward Nystrom and Uncle Gunnar Bror Nystrom III.
