January 29th, 1937 - January 11th, 2024
Susan Boas (born Mary Susan Hall) passed away at the age of 86, in Mukilteo Washington. Born January 29, 1937, in Spokane Washington to Agnes and Robert Hall, along with sisters Ann, Joan, Roberta, Nancy, and Monica. Susan leaves behind her children Robert Pederson [Ruth], John [Charlene] Pederson, Carol Pederson, and Dave [Julie] Carey, grandchildren Brad Pederson, Kelli Pederson, Erika [Sean] Cook, John Carey, Justin Carey, and Jacob Carey, as well as her beloved great-grand children Theo Carey and Caroline Cook. She is predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Richard Boas, and sisters Anne Hartman (d. 1996), Joan Pribnow (d. 2018), and Roberta Louise Boyd (d. 2003). Susan attended St. Aloysius Grade School and Holy Names Academy in Spokane, Washington. In 1978, she moved to Seattle, where she worked as a professional paralegal with Foster Pepper. She moved to Bothell, Washington in 1994, where she lived for almost 30 years. Her hobbies included music, golf, walking, and cooking. A life lived through music - Susan was a lifelong performer and teacher of music. A talented violinist, singer, and pianist, she performed with the Spokane Symphony, Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. In her retirement, she began teaching as a volunteer paraeducator at Meany Middle school in Seattle, then Skyview Middle School in Bothell. Her true love of teaching was best demonstrated through her private music lessons to children in her Bothell neighborhood. She adored every one of her students and their families, regularly spending extra time with them either teaching or talking. Her students brought her so much joy and meaning to life, that Susan’s family will forever be incredibly grateful for. Susan’s best friend and companion of 9 years, her dog, Piper will continue to be cared for by Erika and Sean Cook.
