Susan Colleen Dowdy

August 5th, 1955 - August 4th, 2024

Susan (Susie) Colleen Dowdy passed away from this life on August 4, 2024. She was 68 years old at the time of her death. Susie was a fourth generation Arizonan and was born in Phoenix on August 5, 1955. She soon moved after her birth to La Jolla, California with her mother, Jean Dowdy, Her father, Glenn Dowdy, and her brother, Steve Dowdy. Susie finished her high school studies graduating from San Marcos High. She soon was accepted to the University of Oklahoma School of Journalism. During her tenure at OU Susie was elected President of her sorority, kappa Delta. She graduated with honors from OU. Her post graduate work was done at OETA television in Oklahoma City where she later became a producer. Susie won national awards for producing the Lawrence Welk show which still runs today. In 2004 Susie moved back to her home state of Arizona where she created her own public relations business representing many stars of television and early Rock and Roll. Susie will be missed by all those she touched in life, and to those living on the screen and in our hearts.
