Susan Rebecca Duncan
December 15th, 1953 - June 17th, 2018
Susan Rebecca Duncan Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue A beloved woman who walked this earth Now flies where the skies are blue and dreams really do come true Susan was born December 15, 1953 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Mary Lou (Vincent) and Kenneth Jack Duncan. As a military dependent she claimed many locations as her home, but Colorado was her first and final choice. She lived in Aurora, Colorado for 2 years as a child. During her college years, she returned and worked at the Colorado Rocky Mountain YMCA camp and starred as a Munchkin in the Lollipop Guild. She taught math in Missouri and Texas; retiring from Ysleta ISD in El Paso, Texas before moving back to Colorado. Susan had many friends that she shared her adventures with on every path that she found following her personal yellow brick road. She loved music singing and playing piano and guitar as well as watching or listening to endless hours of musicals. Harmonizing while singing was a natural talent for Susan and a pleasure for those of us that were fortunate to hear her. One of Susans favorite movies was The Wizard of Oz and she raised and loved several "Toto" dogs (Cairn Terriers). Survivors include two younger sisters, her dearly loved niece and her four-legged rescue Fancy Yancy (cairn terrier). Susans final dream is now true - she is above the clouds with the rainbows where blue birds fly and dreams really do come true. Service Information A service summary is not available
