Susan Hogge

Susan B. Hogge, age 77, long-time resident of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully at her place of residence on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Susan was born September 25, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harry and Josephine Burtoft, the second of four children. Susan grew up in Salt Lake City where she met and married the love of her life Lawrence (Mike) Hogge. Susan and Mike blended their families and raised eight children and celebrated 50 years of marriage. They spent most of their early days together in Salt Lake City before landing in Colorado in 1979. Susan spent most of her professional career in Banking except for a brief stint in the middle when she and Mike owned and operated a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in San Mateo, California. In her free time Susan enjoyed spending time with family and friends traveling, playing cards, book club, hosting dinner parties, participating in church activities and she could always be found on the sidelines or in the bleachers at the grandkids’ sporting and extra-curricular events. She was ever the proud grandma. Susan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children; Michael Hogge, (De Hogge-wife of Bob), David Hogge, Larry Hogge (Chella Hogge), Cindy Nelson (Mark Nelson), Chris Morgan (Jennifer Morgan), John Hogge (Lisa Schwellenbach), Dan Hogge (Holly Hogge), 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, her sister, Sally McKean and brother Fred Burtoft (Lindy Burtoft). Susan was preceded in death by her husband Mike Hogge, parents, Harry and Josephine Burtoft, sister, Marsha McClure, son, Robert Hogge, and grandchildren, Dustin Hogge and Heather McQueen. Although Susan will be missed tremendously by family and friends, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband Mike and the two are at peace once more. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16th, 2020, 2:00 pm at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave, Littleton, CO 80128. Reception to follow at Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel, 9808 Sunningdale Blvd, Lone Tree, CO 80124. In support of her active membership to the Catholic church we ask that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made directly to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
