Hummel, Susan Lorraine, 76, of St. Petersburg passed away November 9, 2018, at Suncoast Hospice. April 11, 1942, she was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, she graduated from Princeton High School, University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lorraine Hummel, her brother, Richard Hummel and her former husband, Graham Petri. Susan is survived by her daughter, Laura Hohl (nee Petri), and granddaughter, Molly Lorraine Hohl. She recently became Catholic and attended St. Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid quilter working with groups to sew for shut-ins, cancer patients, and people with special needs. She was a voracious reader who loved to travel. After attending, she worked at Xavier University nearly 20 years and eventually retired from All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. Susan’s visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the Anderson McQueen funeral home. Saturday November 17, 10 am mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Petersburg with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul Catholic School or Xavier University for scholarships.
