Susan Webster Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away June 1, 2024, after a brief illnessSusie was born in New Bedford, MA on December 28, 1951, the second of four daughters of William McRae and Phyllis Clason Webster.  When Susie was three years old, the family moved to High Point, NC where she grew up. She received her B.A. from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.   Soon after graduation, Susie moved to Washington DC, where she became a realtor, working in DC and Northern Virginia for 40 years.

At a fateful Halloween party in 1981, Susie met Dave Miller, an IT specialist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They were married in April 1983 and their son, Alex, was born the following year.  They moved to Alexandria, where Rachel was born in 1986. Susie and Dave raised their family in Falls Church where Susie continued to practice real estate.  She remained an active and involved mother who made sure she was at home for the kids after school.  She served as a Cub Scout den mother, as well as an enthusiastic PTA member.

Susie was passionate about gardening, and with her in-depth knowledge of horticulture, she created a lush home garden, despite very little sun. Susie was especially good at plant propagation, sharing her bounty with friends, relatives, and neighbors.  She once served as president of the Falls Church Garden Club and planted and maintained a small garden on the grounds of George Mason High School which survived for quite a few years.  Susie was also passionate about the care and welfare of animals.  She was a fantastic cook who loved to entertain.  She presided with warmth over the many holiday dinners and barbecues that she and Dave held over the years.  She is affectionately remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

Susie is survived by her husband David H. Miller, Jr., children Alexander W. Miller (Amy Phillips) and Rachel L. Miller (Keith Gurgick), two beloved grandchildren, Mary Ellen and Arrow, and her three sisters, Judy, Sally and Nancy.
