Susan D Nyhus

December 26th, 1938 - July 21st, 2024

Susan was born on December 26, 1938, in Oakland, California and passed away July 21,2024 in Tacoma, Washington surrounded by her family. She is survived by her son Todd Johnson (Sarah), daughter Lisa Croft (Russel), daughter-in-law Karen Bachmann and grandson Tommy Johnson along with numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Nyhus and son Marty Johnson.

Susan grew up in North Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High in 1957 where she met Buck Johnson. They married and had three children. Summertime meant boating and spending time with family on Fox Island. Later in life Susan met Alvin Nyhus, and they married in September 1998. Al and Susan lived in Fircrest and spent many weekends in Westport where they loved meeting with friends and dancing the night away at the VFW, Captain Jacks and The Islander.

Susan loved her family and friends and could always be seen with a welcoming smile.

We know you are dancing again and embracing those that passed before you.

Memorial service with reception following will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 14th at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1001 Princeton St., Fircrest, WA.
