Susan Hazel O’Connor A woman who loved life, left the world as we know it to move on to a much happier, stress free existence. In the short time she was with us – May 9, 1945 through November 29, 2009, her willingness to accept everyone unconditionally, made positive changes in all who crossed her path. She and her family arrived in Shelton from San Jose, California in August of 1978 to begin their new journey. Hers began as a Certified Manufacturing’s first woman Machinist. After a back injury, she moved to a career with the Shelton School District that fulfilled her and enriched all of her students. As a school bus driver, a middle school detention advisor and finishing up as a Special Education Paraprofessional, she earned the respect of her coworkers and adoration from her students. Within the family unit, which was quite extensive, Gramma Sue was the glue that holds us all together. Always willing to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear, she always made us feel special and unique as well as loved and accepted. Greeting her in heaven will be her parents Ingval (Ty) and Marcy Dahl, brothers Dale and Glen Dahl., many aunts, uncles and grandparents. Waiting patiently to rejoin her, is husband Joseph O’Connor; daughter Geri; son Kenneth Fox; stepson Arthur (Teresa) O’Connor; grandchildren Gary Elliott, ShiAnn, Alex & Tyler O’Connor, Jake and Wyatt O’Connor, Martin Delarosa; sisters Connie (Rick) Williams, Pearl (David) Look, Candis (Jay) Katzoff-North; great grandchildren Kylee, Seth, Jordan and Brandon; lifelong friend Carol McGuffey; and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose life will never be the same without her.
