Susan "Sue" Marie Rasmussen
May 4th, 1961 - October 4th, 2023
An earthside angel crossed over when we lost Susan “Sue” Marie Rasmussen, 62, the morning of October 4th. While they say there’s no such thing as perfect, her love was. It was this tendency to accept and love all that made her cherished and special to so many. Sue was born in Ontario, Oregon on May 4th, 1961, and moved around Idaho throughout her childhood before setting roots and building a family in Boise. Her favorite things in life other than her children, were her grandchildren: Evangeline, Magnolia, Azula, Freya, Wylder, and Theodore. Their weekly Grandma days were magical and created the best memories. She did anything and everything for her three kids and their spouses: Zachary and Sarah Rasmussen, Rachel and Joshua MacDonald, and Ajay and Jessica Rasmussen. She was always there as an ear to listen, warm arms to hug, a dedicated real estate agent, enough food for an army, hundreds of Jello shots, the best swimming lessons, and to care for any stray cat or person. She gave so much of her heart to all that it finally couldn’t go on anymore, but she’ll live forever in the love that she taught. She is survived by her parents, Keith and Barbara Burns, mother-in-law, Ruth Rasmussen, and her siblings, James (Lynn) Burns, Catherine Harvey, and Timothy Burns along with her cherished nieces, nephews, bonus kids/grandkids, and friends. We’ll celebrate her life on Saturday, October 14th in her beautiful backyard at 5471 Cortez Pl. Drop-in between 2 and 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to her GoFundMe to help with medical and housing expenses. We find peace that she’s no longer in pain and gets to bask every day in the sun with the love of her life, Gary Rasmussen who predeceased her in 2012.
