“Suzy” It is not how long a flower blooms, but how beautifully. Susan Marie Sanchez passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born on August 16, 1960 in Salinas, CA to Vincent Sanchez, Jr. and Patricia (Sanchez) Meacham. Suzy was always willing and happy to lend a helping hand to others. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies: be it baking and cooking for others to enjoy; arts and crafts; in particular, wreath making and sewing; attending concerts; and, in recent years, playing harmonica. Suzy also enjoyed listening to music, sunbathing, visiting the beach, going for drives, antiques and the Victorian era. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her vibrant, free spirit will always be remembered. Always loving and living life on her own terms. She possessed beauty externally and internally. Her magnetic personality was undeniable. She lit up a room and illuminated it with her beautiful spirit. Suzy cared deeply for others, her family and truly was an authentic, personable individual. She loved the little things in life and always put great energy into everything she did. She knew the little things in life always mattered the most to others. Suzy leaves behind her life partner Francisco Leal, mother Patricia Meacham, stepfather William Meacham, daughters Brandy Monighetti, Elizsa Monighetti, son Jackson Emlay, brothers John Sanchez and Chad Sanchez, sisters Anne Richmond and Gianna Marchal, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and friends.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
