Susan D. Trice

TRICE, Susan Darroch, 90, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 with family by her side. She was born in Stephenson, Scotland but grew up in New Jersey after moving to the United States in the 1930’s as a little girl. Susan moved to Lakeland in 1988 from Connecticut. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland, Florida. Over the past year, Susan was grateful for the opportunity to live with and become closer to her daughter, Mary and son-in-law, Eric. During this time, she was also able to form close relationships with the clergy at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. Susan was a proud homemaker and known for her generous charity work. She enjoyed traveling all over and cruising. Susan was an athlete in her youth and remained active in sporting activities until her late 80’s. She will be missed dearly by her family, who will forever know her to be “tough as nails”. Susan is preceded in death by her husband, of 42 years, JC Trice; three brothers, Peter Paterson, Henry McGill, Hugh McGill; four sisters, Agnus McGill Smet, Ellen McGill Perkins, Jane McGill Neel, and Catherine McGill. She is survived by one son, Scott Trice and his wife, Cherie; one daughter, Mary Janssen and her husband, Eric; five grandchildren, Jacey Trice, Camden Trice, Kenneth Noad and his wife, Astrid, Andrew Noad and his partner Margaret Grimmer, Adam Noad and his partner Sara Snyder; three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ethan, and Lucas. A memorial mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one half hour prior.
