Susie Flowers Meabe

MEABE, Susie Flowers, 98, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2015. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Wilfred "Tony" Meabe. Susie was born and lived her entire life in Tampa where she married the love of her life and raised her family. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, daughter, Violet E. Lazzara; son, Wilfred "Tony" Meabe Jr. and daughter in law, Carmen; grandchildren, Lea Canalejo (Ronnie), Angelo Lazzara (Lisa), Tony Lazzara (Katalin), Jackie DeCaprio (Tony), Christel Perez (Pepe), Mark Meabe (Beth); great-grandchildren, Lauren Canalejo, Nicholas Lazzara, Riley & Reese Lazzara, Anthony & Stefanie Perez, Kyle & Kaitlin Campbell and Sofia Meabe. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her entire family. Her love of embroidery produced beautiful treasures that her family will have to remember her for years to come. Her chicken soup warmed the hearts of her grandchildren and her almond balls and pickled shrimp always made Christmas special. Pallbearers are: Angelo Lazzara, Nicholas Lazzara, Tony Lazzara, Mark Meabe, Ronnie Canalejo, Pepe Perez, Anthony Perez, Kyle Campbell and Jimmie Zummo. Honorary pallbearers are: Tony DeCaprio and Dominic Zummo. The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor at Bayshore Pointe for the love and care they gave our beloved Susie during her stay there and to the LifePath Hospice Gold Team for their care and support as well. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Florida Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Graveside service to follow at Centro Asturiano Cemetery.
