Suzanne O. Soles

Suzanne O. Soles, 80, of Summerville, SC passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 surrounded by her family and dear friend Lottie. Suzanne was born May 1, 1942 in Charlotte, NC. She was the youngest child, and only daughter to the late Thomas “Chester” and Grace Owens. She graduated from Chicira High School and attended Trident Technical College. She also volunteered for Dorchester habitat for humanity. Suzanne had a deep love for her family. Her nieces and nephews were as dear to her as her own children. She loves to tell stories of growing up with three brothers. She loved traveling, anitques and Jimmy Buffett. However, she was happiest when she was cooking and taking care of her family. Her chicken salad, flank steaks, and chocolate cake will be missed by her family. Susanne is survived by daughter, Lisa Soles, and son, Kevin Soles, and wife, Nicole, all of Summerville, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Connor Gray, Kerrigan Weathers, Jackson Weathers, and Sarah Grace Soles all of Summerville; a brother David Owens of Reedville, SC; a nephew, Gil Owens of Winston Salem, NC; nieces, Julie Owens of Spartanburg, SC; Tracey Owens of Charleston, SC; Tanya Castorina of Rock Hill, SC; Leigh Ohlandt of James Island, SC; Rebecca Jackson of Inman, SC; Suzie Gowan of Reidville, SC and Lori Williams of Simpsonville, SC. Suzanne also leaves behind a very dear friend, Lottie Altman. It was Suzanne’s wish that that family and friends gather for a celebration of life to share pictures, memories and food. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Crossroads Community Church Fellowship Hall located at 505 Gahagan Road, in Summerville, SC from 1:00 to 3:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald house or the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
