Sydney H. Hart

Mr. Sydney H Hart, age 93, of Mayfield, New York passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Johnsville Rehab & Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 12, 1930, in North Broadalbin, the son of the late Hugh and Verna (Reed) Hart. He attended Broadalbin School. He owned and operated Foothills Farm in Mayfield, NY. He was also employed as a milk man for several dairies in the immediate and surrounding communities. He retired out of Hannaford Bros. in Gloversville NY, working in maintenance. As a Master Gardner he enjoyed working in his garden(s) and operating his vegetable and plant stands. He also enjoyed visiting with neighbors, friends and sharing stories. He married Charlotte Dopp in September of 1952 and they have celebrated 70 years of marriage. He was predeceased in death by, his sister, Dulcie VanDyke of St. Johnsville, NY. One daughter, Adrienne Hart, and one son, Daniel Hart. Sydney is survived by his wife, Charlotte, son, Harvey (Sharon) Hart, daughter, Heidi (David) Zeno, son, Scott Hart, son, Henry (Lisa) Hart, son, Sean (Marguerite) Hart, daughter, Abigail (Michael) Gisondi and daughter, Amy (Matthew) Mogensen. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Interment will take place at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00am. Services will be open to family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, 7 Timmerman Ave. St. Johnsville, NY 13452.
