"Hadley - Sylvia J. (Ely) Barrett, 74, of Huntington Rd., died at home on February 15, surrounded by her family. She was born November 12, 1938 in Boston, MA, daughter of Fannie (Horr) Ely of Hadley and the late Walter Ely. Sylvia worked as a legal secretary for 35 years for Paul Ford and Monsein, Monsein and MacConnell. She also worked as a clerk at Marshalls in Hadley. Sylvia enjoyed gardening and was an avid shopper. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Barrett of Hadley and two children, Amy Meserve and husband Jason of Amherst, NH, and David Barrett and wife Kelly of Bloomington, IL. She also leaves three grandchildren, Sam, Riley and Harper Barrett. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A private burial will take place in spring at Quabbin Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Team Jessica Inc., 51 West Street., Belchertown, MA 01007. "
