Sylvia Vargas McGill, 75, passed away April 29, 2015. She was born February 2, 1940 in Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Carmen Vargas. Sylvia was a retired Registered Nurse in NY and NC. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her 4 children - She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family gatherings, reunions with her childhood friends from Bronx NY, sharing her faith, music, dancing, keeping up with her NY Mets - and watching her favorite Dilworth Little League team - Dilworth Neighborhood Grille play at Jim Whittington Field - She is survived by her children- son Thomas Samuelson and his wife Mary-Beth; son Michael Samuelson and his wife Ashley; daughter Marie Alexander and her husband Sean; son Edward McGill; her 7 grandchildren Kathleen, Thomas, Hannah, William, Mary-Kathryn, Megan and Julia Marie as well as her sister - Trini Leggiero and her husband Ray - a niece Debbie and her husband Jim; nephew Joe and his wife Rhea; nephew Jamie and his wife Kelly. She was sadly preceded in death by her eldest nephew Raymond- A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 - 3:30pm at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church in the Chapel with Father Paul Q. Gary officiating, 3016 Providence Rd. Charlotte, NC 28211.
