Sylvia J. Navaretta, 77, of Scotia, NY passed away unexpectedly at Ellis Hospital on Wednesday February 17, 2021. She was born and raised in Schenectady, NY. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Louis Navaretta and Betty (Gonyea) Navaretta, her husband David Loft , and oldest son, Douglas Pross. She is survived by her three children, William (Linda) Pross, Richard (Deb) Pross, and Denise Pross; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her twin sister, Judith Sears and other sisters, Sandra (Edward) Paniccia, Diana (John) Reed; her brother, Charles (Linda) Robinson; and her lifelong friend, Maddy (Robert) Heisler. Sylvia was a member of the Open Arms Church in Rotterdam, NY. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games with friends, and shopping at local thrift stores. She was a sincere animal lover and loved watching Hallmark movies. A private celebration of life will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to your local animal shelter, Open Arms Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
