Tadeu Guzik
September 2nd, 1938 - October 15th, 2023
Tadeu Guzik was born on September 02, 1938 in Curitiba, Parana - Brazil. He was born to humble immigrant parents (Petrus and Francisca (Uzendovski) Guzik) that fled Europe seeking a new life following WWII. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Boleslau Guzik, Joseph Guzik, Henrique Guzik and his sisters - Sophia (Guzik) Reksidler and Julia (Guzik) Jaskolowski. He started working at an early age and his adventurous spirit compelled him to join the Brazilian Navy. He served for seven years sailing on the NE Almirante Saldanha exploring the vast Brazilian coastline and several naval ports. He loved exploring new places and meeting new people. Fulfilling his Navy commitment, he returned to Curitiba where he met his future wife,Tereza. They soon married and pursued a new adventure by leaving Brazil and starting a new life in the USA. They faced many challenges and worked hard for 16 years. Missing family, they decided to return to Brazil where my father pursued his dream of becoming a service station owner. After several years, he sold his business and retired. The longing to be near children and grandchildren brought them to the US once again. After a lengthy battle with multiple health issues, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was loved and will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Tereza (Moskalewicz) Guzik, his daughter Tammy (Sam) Battaglia and son Tim Martins and grandchildren: Caitlin Battaglia, Gabrielle Battaglia, Timothy Martins, Nicholas Martins and Sarah Martins. Great grandchildren Carter Martins and Dominic Martins. A memorial service will be held at a later date. clarklegacycenter.com
