September 16th, 1950 - January 12th, 2016
Tammis A. Day, 65, of Sula, MT passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home. She was born September 16, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA the daughter of Willametta (Keck) and Robert A. Day. Tammis attended Smith College in Northampton, MA where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was currently working on her Master's Degree at Tampa University. Tammis was a published poet, an actress, playwright, Montana horse woman and a muscle car enthusiast. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, a life time member of the National Reining Horse Association, a member and director of the Keck Foundation and the Vice President and a Trustee for the Willametta K. Day Foundation. Tammis was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Hook Day and T.J. Day. She is survived by 2 brothers, Matt Day and Robert Day; 7 nieces and nephews; and many wonderful cousins. Private family services and interment will take place in the Santa Barbara Cemetery Association. The family suggests that memorials be made in Tammis' name to the Smith College Alumnae, House/Gifts, designated to the Poetry Center, 33 Elm St., Northampton, MA 01063 or to the Montana Horse Sanctuary, Simms, Montana.
