Tanua Lenora Smith
November 13th, 1956 - April 3rd, 2023
Tanua Lenora Smith, 66, died April 3, 2023. She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Daughter of the late Edwin Richards Sr and Freda Louis Richards. Tanua worked at McAlpins for years before becoming a certified pharmacy technition. She worked at Rite Aid and then the University of Kentucky, where she eventually retired. She loved to decorate her home for each holiday and season change. Later in life, she found a new love for her grand-dogs and cats, giving them endless love and attention. She also loved playing Bunco with her girl friends and was an avid UK Basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Franklin Lee Smith, her sisters Edwina Adams, Erelene Topolski, and her brother Roger Stoneking and her father-in-law Frank D Smith. Survivors include her sons Travis (Holly) Smith and Gregory Smith, her Stepson Eric (Jennifer) Smith. Her sister Elaine Frederick. Her brothers Edwin Richards Jr (Yoko Komiya), Timothy (April) Richards, Dr. John (Beth Anne) Adams, and her grandchildren Timothy Smith (Aedin Harpster), Kaitlyn Gibson (Ryan Joy), and Mason Smith, and her mother-in-law Nancye Smith. The family will have a Celebration of Life for Tanua on May 6, 2023 from 1-3pm at Clark Legacy Center Brannon Crossing.
