Teresa "Terri" Lynn Gamboa
August 6th, 1959 - March 12th, 2017
Teresa "Terri" Lynn Gamboa, 57, of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away on March 12, 2017 in Tacoma, Washington. She was born August 6, 1959 in Bremerton, Washington to Louis Stack and Betty (Stewart) Anderson. Terri and her younger brother, Michael, grew up in Kitsap County. She attended East Port Orchard Elementary, Marcus Whitman Junior High, and South Kitsap High School where she loved playing the clarinet in marching band. Following graduation, she continued her education at Clover Park Technical College and began working as a legal secretary. On July 7, 1979 she married Jacquin Gamboa and they made their family home in Port Orchard with their three children. Terri loved children and began a daycare. It was so successful, it ran for over a decade and saw dozens of young people come through the door of her home. Eventually, she changed her focus from helping families with babysitting, to locating the perfect piece of real estate for folks around the Puget Sound. Although Terri enjoyed the adventure of house-hunting and matching people with their forever-homes, she longed to get back to a care-giver position. So, she again went back to school, this time for her nursing license. Terri finally found her calling. For over fifteen years, she has helped elderly patients during their twilight years and in hospice care. It was during this time that Terri fell ill herself. On March 1, 2017, Terri went in to the emergency room with what she believed were complications to kidney stones. After initial testing, the doctors prepped her for surgery, only to be stopped by the oncologist. They found Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Terri was informed her prognosis was terminal. It was barely twelve days later that Terri passed away. Terri is survived by her parents, Lou (Joan) Stack and Betty (Phil) Anderson; her brother, Michael (Heather) Stack; her children, Briana (Alexander) Cregier, Brian (Cheri) Gamboa, and Brenee (Randy) Leverett; and 12 grandchildren, Reymond, Talia, Sebastian, William, Gianna, Danika, Kyler, Natalya, Jasper, Aubriana, Maxwell, Rosabelle. A private family gathering will take place April 1, 2017 at the Sedgwick Cemetery in Port Orchard, where Terri will be placed near her grandma Cate's final resting place. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. -1 John 4:10
