Terrence James Donovan
December 19th, 1951 - May 26th, 2021
Terrence James Donovan, 69, of Greeley passed away May 26, 2021 at NCMC. He was born December 19, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY to Daniel Anthony and Amalia Sylvia (Sammond) Donovan. He grew up in East Meadow, NY and graduated high school in 1969. He was a championship wrestler and lacrosse player and varsity football player. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, NC. He served in the 504th Infantry Parachute Regiment during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged. He moved to Colorado and took a job in Rangely, CO in the oil fields. He saved enough to enroll at UNC in Greeley. He would attend classes then go back to Rangley to earn money to continue his education. Later he took a job at Nor-Colo distribution driving a truck. He earned a Masters degree in English while at UNC. He worked in construction and was very meticulous with his tools and equipment. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid reader. In his earlier years, he was a member of the NRA. For many years, he was a companion to Jeannette (Vey) Noyer until she passed away. Survivors include his stepdaughter, Brenda Millikin; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth (Christopher) Williams and their daughter, Riley as well as his brother, Thomas (Lenore) Donovan, nieces and nephews; Christopher, Matthew, Katelyn and Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Jr. in 1965. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 at Adamson. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church with military honors. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to "27th Infantry Reg. Historical Society Inc.” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
