Mr. Dotson, 63, of Charlotte, NC died at his residence on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. A native Charlottean, Terry was born February 8, 1951, a son of Robert and Norma Horton Dotson. Mr. Dotson was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and was a retired machinist. He enjoyed music and playing the mandolin, guitar and drums. Terry loved animals and especially his cats. In addition to his parents, Terry is survived by his sister, Robin Neel and husband, Jerry; niece Holly Currin and husband, Patrick; great nephews, Parker and Reed Currin. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. A service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Western Carolina Chapter, 205 Regency Executive Park Dr., Ste. 102 Charlotte NC 28217 or the Alzheimer's Association Western Carolina, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
