Sunday, November 14, 2010 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Alternatives Lacey Chapel 2830 Willamette Drive NE Lacey, Washington 98506 Terry Lee Land Terry Lee Land of Olympia, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 while travelling to Florida to visit family. He was 54. Terry was born February 9, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to Herbert Lee and Thelma Lucy (Caldwell) Land. He grew up in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Robert E. Lee Senior High School Class of 1974. Terry served in the U.S. Army in Oklahoma and Washington and Uijon Bu Korea, from 1977-1984 as a Target Acquisition Specialist and Transport driver. He married Yong Ae Chong at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea and later at the Tacoma Baptist Church in Tacoma. She survives him at the family home. Terry has been successful in many fields. He attended the Washington State Police Academy, was a volunteer Fireman in Spanaway, owned and operated businesses including Pacific Floral for many years, drove a pusher truck at the South Sound Speedway and worked for the Postal Service as a rural carrier. Terry also worked for many years for Mills & Mills Funeral Directors making first-calls, working services and operating the crematory when needed. He also worked at Radio Shack. Terry quickly moved into managerial positions within Radio Shack, due in no small part by his diversity of experience and solid work ethic. Terry worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, volunteered at nursing homes and the American Lake Veteran’s Hospital in Lakewood. He loved playing Santa Claus at the Flower shop, spending time with friends and family and his dog Angel. He is a member of the Olympia Central Presbyterian Church. Terry was the type of person who truly would give you the shirt off of his back. He will be missed by a great many Terry is survived by his wife, Yong of Olympia, Parents, Lee and Lucy Land of Jacksonville, Florida, brother, Tony (Tanya) Land of Jacksonville, nephew, Jason (Patricia) Land, niece, Tracy (Chris) Davis and great-nephew, Ryan Davis. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved companion, Angel. A public visitation will be held from 5-9 PM, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Funeral Alternatives in Lacey, 2830 Willamette Drive NE, Suite G, Lacey, WA 98501. A Funeral Service will begin at 10AM Monday, November 15, 2010 at Olympia Central Presbyterian Church, 7241 Pacific Avenue SE, Olympia, WA 98503 followed by a potluck at the church. The Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow the funeral Monday afternoon at 1:30pm at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Mission Funds of the Olympia Central Presbyterian Church, Lacey Full Gospel Church or to the family to help with costs.
