Obituary Terry Lewis, 59, passed away Saturday. February 1, 2014 after battling severe cardiac issues all his adult life. Terry has lived in the Colorado Springs area, graduating from Manitou Springs High School in 1972. He attended Pikes Peak Community College taking a variety of auto related classes. After college he worked for an auto body shop and then for Kaman Aerospace. After retiring from Kaman he started a new career in purchasing and inventory control. Terrys passion was always cars! Chevrolet Muscle cars were his favorite, he has built many over the years; 2 1962 Impala SSs, 1972 Camaro, 1967 Chevrolet Pick-up, 1968 Camaro, 1971 Monte Carlo, 1969 Blazer work in progress and his favorite, a 1972 Chevelle with a big block engine and a hatchback from a Nova fitted into the back. He also helped his sister-in-law build a 1967 Mercury Cougar! He was proud to have his vehicles featured in magazines, including the 67 Pick-up on a magazine cover! Terry and his family traveled all over Colorado and a few other states attending car shows. Terry was one of the founding members of a local car club, Pikes Peak Super Chevys. This club hosted local car shows for 20 years raising well over $100,000.00 for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado and other local charities. Terry used his amazing organizational, leadership and people skills to bring City Officials, Police and Fire Departments, businesses and the community together allowing the club to host the largest car show in Southern Colorado, Tour Tejon AutoJamboree. He was very proud of his charitable fund raising within the community. Terry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gail (Icenogle) Lewis and their daughter, Heather Lewis. He is also survived by his father, Russell F. Lewis. Terry leaves behind numerous extended family members and some amazing friends that have become honorary family in addition to many others, friends and acquaintances alike, whose lives were enriched by knowing Terry even for a short time. A Celebration of his Life is being planned for later this month. Please contact a family member for more details. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado (colorado.wish.org) in his honor. Services Funeral Service
