Terry A. Mates, born June 4th, 1948, died in his home in Loveland, CO on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Terry had a love of animals, strong coffee, old boats, and cars. He was a deeply devoted person of faith who enjoyed Christian television programming. Despite his strong faith, he never missed a Powerball drawing, however, he never won. Raised in South Florida, Terry moved to Colorado with his wife, Joanne, and son, Ryan in the early 1980s. He was a proud CWA member while he worked for the phone company and supported Union efforts until his last day. After he retired, he reignited his passion for building model trains. In Terry’s final days, he was looking forward to being reunited with his wife Joanne who passed in 2005. He is survived by his three children, Ryan, Ashley, and Kelly Mates.
