Kingsport - Terry James McClellan, 58, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 16, 1957 in Kingsport, TN. He was the owner and operator of McClellan Builders and was an avid carpenter. Terry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Eugene McClellan and Mary Helen Spivey Carter; infant daughter, Jasmine Nicole McClellan; and a close family friend, Janet Sams. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Barham McClellan; daughters, Ashley McClellan Crawford, Jacklyn McClellan; step-daughters, Latrisha Baker, Ashley Nacole Lane, Britney Looney; step-son, James Michael Johnson; step-mother, Shirley McClellan; sisters, Lisa Carter Newland and husband Tim, Lisa "Sissy" McClellan, Theresa "Tee Tee" Potter and husband Jay; brothers, Bobby Carter and wife Tammie, Tony McClellan, Jody McClellan; grandchildren, Nevaeh Bledsoe, Hannah Crawford, Brenton Crawford, Jazmyn Mangold, Kenley Mangold, Ethan Studnicka, Arianna Mangold, Steven Johnson, Caydain Karlstrom, MJ "Wyatt" Fishur, and Madison Looney; along with several nieces and nephews; special friends, David and Patty Psimer, Shamrock McClellan, Roger Lane and Dennis Ball. The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Music will be provided by Lisa Carter Newland. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Fall Branch, TN. Pallbearers will be Jeff Flanary, Roger Lane, Jonathan Hunter, Michael Johnson, Bobby Carter, Jay Potter, Jason Spears and Charles "Weaver" Williams, III. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Ball, David Psimer and Brent Crawford. The family would like to extend a heartfelt special "Thank You" to; David and Patty Psimer, Charles Williams, II, Charles Williams, III, Curtis Parsons and Todd Russell. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the McClellan family.
