Thelma Jane East, 58 years of age, passed on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at home in Shelton, Washington. She was born June 16, 1959, to Shelbie Sawyers and Ilsa (Fuller) Sawyers in Ft. Riley, Kansas. As a U.S Army veteran, she traveled the world; one of her favorite places was Germany. She will always be remembered as a strong, opinionated, selfless, and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Thelma is survived by a loving husband; three strong sons; three strong daughters; a very exuberant brother; three amazing supportive sisters; a beautiful mother; 18 crazy fun grandkids; six great grandkids; and a numerous amount of friends and self-adopted family, so much so that there just isn’t enough ink to name them all. Thelma loved everyone who was and wasn’t anyone. Nature was her calling and art was her passion. She now flies free with her hummingbirds and swims in her seas. With her, she takes a piece of us all to be as free as her. She will forever be missed, loved and honored. She will never be forgotten.
