Mrs. Thelma Lucille Macklin, age 96 a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Palm Garden of Winter Haven due to natural causes. Mrs. Macklin was born December 3, 1914 in Colquil, Georgia to Joseph and Minnie Ona (Johnson) Dawson. She was a resident of Auburndale since 1923 coming from Georgia. Thelma was a retired employee of Adams Packing. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Auburndale, enjoyed singing, reading, listening to music and was known for her beautiful smile & saying I love you. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years - Harry Robert Macklin; 2 sons - Fred Eugene Macklin & Robert Stacy Macklin; grandson - Roger Macklin; 3 brothers - J.P., Leo A., and Clarence; 3 sisters - Agnes Bozeman & Jewel Macklin. Thelma is survived by her loving family; 1 Son: Don (Gail) Macklin, Sr. of Auburndale. 2 Daughters: Minnie Laverne Johnson of Auburndale, Betty Alverson of Auburndale. Sister: Dorothy Carroll of Ft. Pierce, Niece-Daughter: Gerry (Lavon) Jones of Ft. Pierce, FL., Daughter-in-law: Frances Macklin of Auburndale. 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and 13 Great Great Grandchildren.
