Theodore "Ted" Calvin Aubert
June 22nd, 1943 - August 7th, 2024
Theodore “Ted” Calvin Aubert, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Ted was born on June 22, 1943 in San Mateo and raised in the neighboring town of San Jose, CA. Up until recent years, he loved taking care of the yard and grilling on the weekends.
Ted enlisted in the US Army in 1969 and served in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. He separated from the Army in 1975, having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/DVC 60, and Good Conduct Medal. His military service eventually brought him to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, where he met his future wife, Wendy Wildman.
After separating from the Army, Ted spent forty years as a computer programmer, retiring as a senior programmer analyst at the age of 70. In his retirement, Ted volunteered at Harvest Hope Food Bank every day for seven years. He also served faithfully as a door usher and for many years, would make coffee for the Sunday school class at Trinity Church, where he was a member for 26 years.
Ted is survived by his wife Wendy, daughters, Cindy Moorer and Amy Fling (John); sons, Danny (Jackie), Steve and David; and his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17th, at 11:00 at Trinity Church, 1501 Hallbrook Drive, Columbia SC. 29209, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Church, Columbia SC.
