In Loving Memory

Theodore Howard Boldt, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord, on Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born in New York, New York, on March 20, 1940, to the late Theodore Herman Boldt and Dorothy Tager.

At 17, Ted joined the United States Army and spent 9 years serving his Country. He served with honor and reached the rank of drill sergeant. Ted spent most of his career as a long-distance truck driver and was known affectionally by his CB handle as “hitman”. He was an avid bass fisherman, served as deacon in his church and Sunday School Director. Above all, Ted loved his family and the Lord.

In addition to Ted’s parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Peloso.

Ted leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Janice Boldt; his loving children, Teddy Jr. and wife Melinda, Julie Barfield and husband Kevin; Brother, William “Billy” Boldt and his wife Mary, Sister Clifette Northcutt and her husband Jimmy, Brother Edward Tager and his wife Brenda, and Sister Donna Turner and her husband Tommy. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

The family will gather on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Gaston from 1 pm until 2:30 PM to receive friends. The funeral service and burial will follow and will also be held at the Church. The Church is located at 121 Oakey Springs Drive, Gaston, SC 29053.

Dr. Richard H. Capps & Joyce W. Capps

We were grieved to learn of Ted's illness and passing. He and Janice were a blessing to both of us. I was the pastor who had the blessing of baptizing Ted and Janice when they accepted Christ and became members of Gaston First. It was a genuine joy to read of Ted's involvement in the leadership of the church as deacon and Sunday School Director. They were both so faithful each Sunday while I was pastor. Please know of our love and prayers for the comfort of the Lord in this hour of loss. Memories will become more sweeter in the days ahead. III John 2-4.
