Theodore "Ted" Lawrence Engelhaupt
February 28th, 1941 - May 2nd, 2024
Theordore (Ted) Engelhaupt was born February 28 1941. He was 6th in line of a family of 17 children. He was raised in Spencer Nebraska to Ambrose and Vera Engelhaupt. Later, he moved to Pierre South Dakota and had a variety of jobs while living there. Through a blind date, he met Ruby Dinsmore and later married in Midland South Dakota on August 26 1967. They have been married for almost 57 years. They moved to Wisconsin living in a few cities until settling down on the east side of St. Paul. Ted and Ruby gave birth to Victoria M Engelhaupt (Terry Myhre) on November 18, 1970 and Stephen M Engelhaupt on April 18,1974. Ted and Ruby moved to Oakdale Minnesota and lived there for nearly 50 years giving birth to Dean M Engelhaupt (Danielle Bonura) on January 21, 1977 and Dianna M Engelhaupt on November 21,1981. In addition, Ted had one grandson Michael Engelhaupt (Wynonna Forga), and great grandchildren Paulina (Aug 1, 2014), Camden (July 27, 2020) and Lincoln (Feb 7, 2022). Ted was a family man having worked for 3M company for over 30 years. He worked as a factory worker until he retired in 2001. He mainly worked the afternoon shifts from 3-11pm, but would occasionally work rotating shifts (of which he didn’t like). He liked spending time either outside working on his lawn or simply grilling food on the grill. He valued his family always keeping in contact with people on the phone. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Ambrose and Vera Engelhaupt; brothers Martin, Bernard, and Albert and sisters Audrey, and Charlotte. Funeral will be at: Church of St. Peter 2600 Margaret St. N. No St. Paul MN 55109 Internment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery There will be a lunch served after the services at the church.
