Theodore "Ted" Hilliard Knight
December 19th, 1943 - November 21st, 2017
Richmond, KY Theodore Ted Hilliard Knight, 73, died November 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife Frances (King) Knight; daughter Tammy Winburn of Richmond, KY; son Donald (Sonja) Knight of Anderson, Ind.; grandchildren Nikki Winburn, Cassie Winburn of Georgetown, KY and Logan Knight of Anderson, Ind.; great grandchild Chloe Winburn of Georgetown, KY and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Edith (Novella) Knight; sisters Edith Martin, Evelyn Ball and Betty Hunt and brother Jack Edward Knight. Ted lived a full life having earned his BA at the age of 70 in Electrical Engineering. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, woodworking and golfbut mostly loved being a grandpa. Don Knight offered this: Thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my family this week. Here is one of my favorite pictures of my dad. I took it on a camping and fishing trip on Elkhorn Creek. He is leaning on a trailer taking a break after setting up camp. A trailer he built himself, because why not, he could seemingly build or fix anything. Like that time he helped me rebuild my car after I crashed it. Notice no tent poles for the tarp; he used sticks and tree trunks. He taught me how to tie knots but I was never as good at it as he was. My favorite memory from this trip was walking back to camp after fishing downstream with Clay Steres and hearing childish laughter only to find our dad jumping into the creek off a rope swing and having a ball. Grown men acting like a couple kids, brings a smile to my face to this day. He died on Logans birthday but we are not remembering the day he died, we are going to remember all the days he lived. And Im going to cherish all the lessons he taught me and especially all those fishing trips. Funeral Information There will be a visitation from 11-1PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at True Life Church on Kingston Road. The service will be at 1PM and the burial will be a Camp Nelson at 2:30PM.
