THERESA M. RUETH 74, of Jefferson, WI, was born into eternal life on Friday January 26, 2018, at her sister's home in Jefferson, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 23, 1943 in rural Jefferson, daughter of the late Clarence F. Rueth and Veronica M. (Vogel) Rueth. Theresa attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and graduated in 1957. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Milwaukee, class of 1961. She worked at Reddings Restaurant in Jefferson, Moe Light in Fort Atkinson, was a distributor for Neo Life, and waitressed at The Little Tea Room in Fort Atkinson. Then she worked for many years at St. Coletta (Alverno) in food service and as a CNA. After retiring she helped the home bound and was a driver for F.I.S.H. Theresa was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, serving as a Sacristan from 1964 to present. She was also a Lector and Communion distributor. She was an active member of the Council of Catholic Woman serving as Parish President, and Jefferson Deanery President. She taught Religious Education to Middle and High School students for over 50 years. Also she was a member of the RCIA team and Schoenstatt Singles Group. She loved and cared about all people. She was fascinated by butterflies and flowers. Theresa was a truly faithful and beautiful person and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her siblings Mrs. Helen Ann (Robert) Arndt of Jefferson, WI, Sr. Veronica Marie Rueth O.S.F. of St. Francis, WI, Mrs. Louise (Wallace) Schlender of Watertown, WI, and Mrs. Frances (James) Salb of North Port, FL, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Veronica Rueth. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, W4875 US Highway 18 in Jefferson, WI, with Father Thomas Coyle as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery immediately following the mass. Visitation will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7:30, and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, masses or memorials in Theresa's name may be given to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish (St. Lawrence Catholic Church) or the Jefferson Food Pantry.
