February 17th, 1941 - April 12th, 2009
Thomas L. Buchan, 68, of Port Charlotte died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care in Port Charlotte with his devoted family by his side. Born on February 17, 1941 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Louis and Rose (Markovich) Buchan. Thomas owned and operated several businesses including Tomco Auto and Camoset Village in Johnstown, PA for 30 years. Upon his retirement he moved to Florida 8 years ago with his wife Sandra. He enjoyed showing his classic cars, golfing and boating and being a member of the South Gulf Cove Yacht Club. Survivors include his wife of 45 years; Sandra: three daughters; Rhonda (David) Colony of Charlotte, NC., Beth (Stan) Higgins of Laurel, MD., Lesley Buchan and her partner Christian Lindstrom of Washington, DC. He is also survived by four grandsons; Erik, Trevor, Ryan and Ian. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Mr. Buchan's name to Tidewell Hospice & Palliative Care 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238 or the Salvation Army PO Box 495126 Port Charlotte, Fl 33949.
