Thomas Herman Cashwell Jr.
October 5th, 1931 - January 7th, 2024
Thomas Herman Cashwell Jr., 92, of Greensboro passed away on January 7, 2024 at his residence after several years of declining health. A native of North Carolina, he was the son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Shaw) Cashwell. Tom was a graduate of UNC-CH with a BS in Business Administration. He worked for the US GAO in Dayton, Ohio. Then entered the Army based in Fort Brag and Verdun, France in Finance Corps. After the Army, he worked as a CPA with Peat, Marwick Mitchell and Co. He began a career with Guilford County Finance Dept in 1963 and was Finance Director from 1970-1990. Thomas is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruth Cashwell; daughters, Sharee C. Brown and Tanya K. Cashwell; son, Chad; grandson, Jake Brown; granddaughter, Emily Patterson; and five great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Medi Home Hospice for their dedicated compassion and care. Public viewing is open to friends and family on Friday, January 12th at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel in Greensboro from 9:00AM to 4:30PM. Graveside services will be at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00AM In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to any Hospice or charity of their choice.
