Thomas Allen Davis

June 29th, 1940 - August 26th, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Allen Davis, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who peacefully left this world on August 26th, 2024 in his home in Olympia, Washington.

Thomas, born on June 29th, 1940 in Olympia, was a man of faithfulness and quiet strength who led a life marked by loyalty, kindness and a deep commitment to his family, his community, and his faith.

Thomas graduated from Olympia High School in 1958 and went on to earn is B.S. in Civil Engineering magna cum laude from St. Martin’s University in Lacey, WA in 1962. He furthered his education with an M.S. in Civil Engineering Construction from Standford University in Palo Alto, CA in 1963.  A distinguished career in civil engineering followed, highlighted by his role as a project manager with the Washington State Department of Corrections. His work at the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe, WA, where he oversaw the construction of the first “green” inmate housing building in the nation, stands as a testament to his dedication and professional excellence.

Thomas’ reserved nature belied a surprising spirit, and cherished moments of unexpected humor and unusual antics were treasured by those who knew him well. His life was marked by quiet acts of kindness and generosity.  Thomas’ faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was active in Christian ministries and outreaches. He contributed to the Thurston County jail ministry, the Godmobile, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship of America, and many others.

Thomas enjoyed boating and RV-ing, and loved antique cars. He owned two and was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club as well as the Model A Club.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Beth Davis, his sons Kirk Dawson and Tony Bernards, his daughters Renee Butler, Jenni Bourdon, and Kim Saboe, and his brother Roger Davis, and sisters Barbara Fowler and Lila Sjodin.  He was preceded in death by his parents Wally and Veda Davis, and his sister Beverly Paske.

Thomas’ Celebration of Life memorial will be held on September 9th at 2pm at the Kodiak Room in Tenino, WA.

In peaceful rest, Thomas Allen Davis’s quiet legacy of love, faith and service endure.
