Mr. Thomas Elmore Johnson, AKA Tommy, Daddy, Pawpaw, Pop and Sweet Pawpaw, age 92 a resident of Auburndale passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Auburndale surrounded by family. Mr. Johnson was born September 22, 1930 in Elkmont, Alabama to Wilburn Thomas and Fannie Bell (Jackson) Johnson. He was a resident of Auburndale since the 1960’s and a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Tommy was a retired Maintenance man for Mulberry Welding. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – Allen; 2 sisters – Wilma & Louise; daughter in law – Donna and his grand dog Sherman. Tommy is survived by his loving family, wife of 69 years – Jeanette Johnson of Auburndale; son – Ramey Johnson of Auburndale; brother – Delma “Buddy” (Hilda) Johnson of Chiefland; 2 sisters – Vera Childs & Faye Broxton both of Auburndale; 2 grandchildren – Katrina (Troy) Englert of Winter Haven & Daniel Johnson of Auburndale; 2 great grandchildren – Kamryn & Quinn; 1 great great granddaughter – Lilah Jo and 2 grand dogs – Buttercup & Charlotte. Visitation will be Thursday, February 2nd from 6-8pm at Kersey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:30 pm Friday, February 3rd at the funeral home, interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
