Tom was a Mechanical Engineer who spent much of his career designing Air Pollution Control equipment. He cared deeply for the environment of our planet and education of children as demonstrated not only by his vocation but also by the time he spent as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and his active engagement with the YMCA Y Guides Programs for boys and girls, while living in Ohio. He loved touring State and National Parks with his family, especially Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields and museums. Tom enjoyed volunteering his time for his children and grandchild and was an artist of miniature boats, houses, and model railroad scenery using recycled materials. Tom served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician until August 1966 when he was Honorably Discharged. He attended Penn State University receiving the Associate Degree in Engineering with High Distinction (1967) and Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Mechanical Design Engineering Technology (1969). While Tom was stationed at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station he met his late wife, Martha Ellen Shelton. They wed in June of 1967 and were married for nearly 54 years until her passing several months ago. Tom is survived by his three children Thomas Anthony Lopresti and wife Christy, Matthew Shelton LoPresti and wife Julia, and Mary Ellen LoPresti Brook and husband Thomas, as well as six grandchildren: Katlyn, Jaden, Nina, Aria, Juniper, and Rowan.
