Thomas McInroy
February 17th, 1939 - June 17th, 2010
Thomas E. McInroy, 71, of Rotonda West, FL passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Venice Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 17, 1939 in Wellsboro, PA to Floyd and Angie (Van Zile) McInroy. Tom graduated from Wellsboro High School and also graduated from Penn State and Mansfield University obtaining a Masters Degree. Mr. McInroy moved to Florida 15 years ago from Bath, NY where he retired from the Haverling Central School District after 31 years as a World Culture/History teacher, wrestling coach, golf coach, tennis coach, assistant football coach and was also a wrestling official for over 20 years and a track and field coach. Tom enjoyed carving wood ducks, golfing, camping, bowling and traveling. He was a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church and the Elks. He is survived by his son; Thomas R. (Cheryl) McInroy of Everett, PA: three grandchildren; Misty (Randy) Miles, Brett Elbin and Spencer McInroy all of Everett, PA and two brothers; James (Marge) Mcinroy of Englewood, Fl and Jack (Barb) McInroy of Aurora, CO and his brother in law; Bill (Cathy) Leonard of Mechanicsburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy in January 2007. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 3:00 PM in Doan's Chapel of Englewood United Methodist Church 700 E. Dearborn St. with interment to follow in the Church Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. McInroy's name to Englewood United Methodist Church 700 E. Dearborn St. Englewood, FL 34223 or the American Kidney Foundation 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite 1010 Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
