Thomas Joseph Meier

Thomas J. Meier of Centennial, CO lost his battle with leukemia on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 passing away peacefully in his home. Tom was 70 years old. Tom was born in Superior, NE on June 16, 1948 to the late Hugh and Stella Meier. He is survived by his loving wife and middle school sweetheart Jo Ann Meier (Weeks), his daughter Nicole Wilson and son-in-law Sean Wilson, his grandchildren Mackenzie and Blake and three of his siblings, Annetta, Ginger and Rick. Tom is preceded in death by his father, mother, and his youngest sister Theresa. Tom graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1966 and attended the University of Kansas (1966-1969) before being drafted and then enlisting in the U.S. Army. Tom served both domestically and in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. During his tenure in the service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Tom was honorably discharged from the service in 1972. After returning from overseas, Tom pursued a long and prosperous career in geotechnical engineering which he devoted over 20 years to. After his lengthy engineering career, Tom became a small business owner and entrepreneur. A memorial service will be held in Tom†™s honor at 11:00am on Monday, March 11. The service will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S. Quebec St., Englewood, CO 80112 with lunch served at the conclusion of the service. Following lunch at 2:30pm, a short interment ceremony will be conducted with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend all services.
