Obituary Thomas Isaac Monroe Jr., 83, of Lexington, Kentucky and husband of Gwendolyn Gates Monroe, died Monday, March 5, 2012. Thomas was born July 2, 1927 in Greensboro, North Carolina, to the late Thomas Isaac Sr. and Cathlene Monroe. Thomas served in the US Army and Navy and later was an Engineer with TRW, along with other business ventures. In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his two sons, Jeff ( Bettie Ann) Monroe, of Georgetown, Kentucky and Brad (Colette) Monroe, of the Virgin Islands; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Monroe. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, March 9th, 2012 from 5 until 7pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A private family graveside service will be Friday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lexington Leadership Foundation and the Lexington Rescue Mission. www.clarklegacycenter.com Funeral Information A Private Family Graveside Service will be on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky. A Celebration of Life Service will be 5 - 7 pm, Friday, March 9, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing.
