Mr. Thomas Poremba, 66, departed this life October 1, 2022 at the Cooperstown Center Nursing Home where he had been a resident. He was born August 25, 1956 in Amsterdam NY. He was the loving son of Ed and Helen Poremba. He married Geraldine Barnes Poremba on October 19, 1991 in Amsterdam. In addition to his loving wife Geraldine he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Watkins and son-in-law L.J. Watkins of Amsterdam. His loving grandchildren, Brianna Watkins (John Snell) and Alyssa Watkins all of Amsterdam. He was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's R.C. Church in Amsterdam. Tom was a truck driver for 35 years working for a multiple of local companies. He last drove for System Freight Company in Amsterdam, NY. He enjoyed going to car shows where he took pictures. He also had pictures published in Hot Rod Magazine over the years. In his younger years he raced RC Cars. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday October 11, 2022 at 6:00PM at the Betz, Rossi and Belliinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday October 11, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
