Farewell Our Hero Our hearts are saddened today because our father and hero has taken his final flight west. Loving father and grandfather, Thomas Richard Radcliffe, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 27th 2011. Tom is survived by his wife Vivian of 55 years; sister, Carol Fisher; and four sons: Christian, Martin, James and John Radcliffe. Tom was also a loving grandfather to Sean, Chase and new granddaughter Giavanna Radcliffe. Tom was a true Renaissance Man. He was a published author, painter, and accomplished musician. Tom served his country in the Korean War as a Marine reconnaissance and jet fighter instructor pilot. After the war, Tom worked for American Airlines where he met his wife Vivian and had five sons. He also flew for Pan American World Airways for 25 years. It was a wonderful adventure that took the family all over the globe with a lot of happiness and with some tragedy. Toms oldest son Randy (cubby bear) was taken from us in an auto accident in 1979. Tom struggled with his loss, and tried to persevere for the rest of his family. Our solace is that he is finally with his cubby bear. During Toms retirement he finished a novel that he had been working on for years. The book was published and is his masterpiece: The Seventh Spear of the Third Reich, under his pseudonym, Thomas Crown. Tom loved the mountains and all animals. His dogs were very important to him and their ashes will be spread along side of their master. Toms boys loved and admired their father greatly. His love, guidance and inspiration were a beacon of light that shined brightly for them to follow. The boys knew their dad would always be there for them. Tom lived that last ten years of his life in Seattle, Washington with his close friend, Patricia Headlund. Tom will be missed by all. Rest in peace dad.
